    Who can ride?
We welcome riders of any ability from beginner to experienced and we have horses to match. The minimum age is 4 years old but there is no upper age limit as long as you are feel you are able to mount and ride.
Whilst COVID-19 restrictions are in place we can only offer riding to those who can mount, dismount and ride unaided. Young children aged 4 or above can still ride but we would ask that their parent or carer helps them get on or off and leads them if necessary.
    Is there a weight limit?
We have a weight limit of 14 stone/89kg.
    When should I arrive?
If it's your first visit about 15 minutes before as you'll each need to complete a registration form and have your hat fitted. Please do allow time to get to us during busy periods as we may not be able to delay starting you ride if you're part of a group.
Can riders with a disability ride?
Of course. We have many years experience of teaching those with visible and invisible disabilities and our horses have the kindest nature and empathy for the rider's needs. Please let us know, when booking, if you think we'll need to, so we can match the right horse to the rider.
How many people will be in a group ride?
Usually around 4, but during busy times maybe up to 6. We always match the groups ability and ages, particularly in lessons.
Are private lessons available all the time?
During peak season, for example summer holidays we can only offer private lessons at 9am or 4pm.
    Are you open every day?
We are open 5 days a week except in the winter months (Nov-Easter) when we close on Sundays and Mondays.
    Are you open all year?
Yes, except for Christmas and Boxing Day and Sundays as above. We have and all weather, lit arena so you can ride in the rain and dark if you really want to!
    What should I wear?
Loose fitting comfortable clothing with long trousers or leggings. We use enclosed safety stirrups so sensible footwear is fine. We provide riding and boots if required. You can use your own hat as long as it meets PAS015 standard (sorry, BHS rules).
Do I need to wear a back protector?
It's entirely up to you. If you do we will need to check the fit doesn't interfere with the back of the saddle.
Do I need to wear a riding helmet?
Yes, all riders must wear a hat which meets the PAS015 standard which we can lend you. In some of our photos you may see actors on horseback without helmets. This will have been under controlled conditions with specific insurance and indemnity for performers.
    Which horse will I ride?
We aim to match your horse to your ability, size and weight but if you have a favourite please let us know when booking. If you're an experienced rider who's coming for the first time we will need to assess your ability before setting off. Please don't be offended as it's for your and the horse's safety and welfare.
    Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, due to our insurance policy, you won't be able to bring your dog onto the yard or accompany the ride. However there are shaded parking areas and we can show you where to take your dog for a walk.
    What can non riders do?
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to offer refreshments. During good weather non-riders can sit outside and watch the riding arena following social distancing rules.
Can I get to you by public transport?
The downside of being in such a beautiful, unspoilt location is that there aren't any bus or train stations nearby. The nearest being Liskeard or Bodmin Parkway although there will be taxis at either.
    Do you offer beach rides?
Sorry, no we don't. We're about 6 miles inland.
